What supervision is required by the Boy Scouts of America?

  Range Safety Officer (RSO) Instructor Comments
BB Gun/Pellet Gun - 1 BB Gun Rangemaster per 8 Shooters or 1 NRA Rifle Instructor per 8 Shooters Not allowed at a Pack level.
Archery - Cub Archery Range Master or USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Not allowed at a Pack level.
Slingshot - 1 BB Gun Rangemaster or 1 NRA Rifle Instructor Not allowed at a Pack level.  Must have 1:1 adult to boy ratio.
Tomahawk - 1 BB Gun Rangemaster or 1 NRA RSO -
.22 Rifle 1 NRA RSO per 8 Shooters (1:8) 1 NRA Rifle Instructor per 8 Shooters (1:8) -
Muzzleloading Rifle 1 NRA RSO per 8 Shooters (1:8) 1 NRA Muzzleloading Instructor per Shooter (1:1) -
Shotgun 1 NRA RSO per 6 Shooters (1:6) 1 NRA Shotgun Instructor per Shooter (1:1) -
Centerfire Rifle 1 NRA RSO per 8 Shooters (1:8) 1 NRA Rifle Instructor per 8 Shooters (1:8) Venturing only.
Pistol 1 NRA RSO per 3 Shooters (1:3) 1 NRA Pistol Instructor per Shooter (1:1) Venturing only.
